Business Unit Overview:
The General Ledger Accounting team is seeking candidates with a solid accounting base combined with the ability to succeed and grow, particularly in an entrepreneurial, hands-on, high growth and fast paced environment. This role will provide support to our General Ledger Accounting function as well as support other finance and accounting functions across Fullsteam.
Job Summary:
As an Accountant, General Ledger Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting processes. In a dynamic environment marked by significant mergers and acquisitions, you will be responsible for managing expenses, and collaborating across teams to ensure proper financial reporting. You will also contribute to implementing accounting efficiencies, assist in year-end audits, and support seamless communication within Fullsteam and its departments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Fullsteam Corporate and assigned Business Units
Prepaid Expense Management:
  • Recording prepaid expenses and ensuring amortization schedules are set up properly.
  • Reconcile prepaid accounts and track future expected amortization schedules.
  • Review Prepaid Reconciliations and ensure accuracy.

Recording other assigned Transactions:
  • Recording of assigned GL transactions including accruals, any non-standard, intercompany, allocation journal entries necessary.

Accounting Principles and Efficiency:
  • Follow GAAP accounting principles, such as cash recognition, amortization, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for current workflows.
  • Be accountable for assigned business units for P&L, Balance Sheet and Variance Analysis.
  • Maintains the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for preparing and analyzing assigned balance sheet reconciliations and other accounting processes, such as expense allocations between Business Units.
  • Reports discrepancies and makes recommendations for resolving variances.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met in accordance with closing dates.
  • Defines, implements, and monitors internal controls.
  • Responsible for month end, quarterly, and year end close for assigned Business Units.
  • Assist with the integration of newly acquired companies.
  • Prepare and analyze supporting documentation and interact with external auditors as needed during year-end audit.
  • Work closely and effectively with various Fullsteam departments and Business Units.
  • Assist with projects associated with implementing accounting efficiencies for the general ledger and accounting teams.

Other Projects:
  • Support streamline process, such as through AI Automation.
  • Work with load files into NetSuite to assist in the allocation of expenses.

Collaboration and Communication:
  • Works to manage relationships across functions including business unit operations, accounting and other departments to ensure alignment and accuracy through clear verbal communication and written documentation.
  • Provides clear and interpretable reports in a consistent manner for stakeholder needs and decision making.
  • Maintains a high level of service to all stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Responds to inquiries and processes requested entries in a timely manner based on revenue month.

Accountability & Adaptability:
  • Achiever who takes ownership of responsibilities and understands the ethical needs of providing accurate and timely accounting data.
  • Works collaboratively with team members to ensure departmental goals are achieved for monthly reporting needs.
  • Is able to thrive in a mergers and acquisitions setting with responsibilities to include integration of newly acquired business units.
  • Identifies challenges, proposes solutions and implements solutions to ensure resolution.
  • Able to work independently to meet weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual accounting needs including month end and year end entries and reporting needs.
  • Accepts new special projects in accounting and finance to drive efficiencies.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Accounting Expertise - Strong knowledge and experience in GL accounting principles and practices (GAAP Accounting).
  • Analytical Capability and Attention to Detail - able to analyze accounting data, identify solutions and take corrective actions with attention to details for accounting records including supporting data, reconciliations and amortization schedules.
  • Communication and Collaboration Abilities - able to communicate across functions to act in a supportive role processing necessary accounting transactions timely and communicating to stakeholders.
  • Adaptability - must be able and willing to accept new challenges associated with a fast-growth company with new business units to support, providing skilled accounting services to existing and newly acquired business units as needed.
  • Experience with NetSuite and strong Excel skills including pivot tables and formulas.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related field.
  • 3-5 years work experience in general ledger accounting, corporate accounting or similar role.
  • Knowledgeable in GAAP, reporting standards and investigating and resolving accounting topics.
  • Corporate month end close process experience.
  • Proficient in Excel and Accounting Systems (NetSuite).
  • Strong analytical experience with ability to communicate identified issues and propose lasting solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in audit process and procedure and year end audit preparation.
  • Experience in fast-paced growth organization.
  • CPA candidate preferred.

Salary range: $60,000-$65,000 USD.
