Job Title: General Ledger Analyst
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Los Angeles, CA - daily commute to 90025
Job Summary:
The General Ledger (GL) Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a portfolio of commercial real estate entities. This role manages the general ledger through the tax preparation process, supports month-end and year-end close, and assists with lender reporting and other accounting functions. The ideal candidate has strong general ledger experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Manage the general ledger through the annual tax preparation process by preparing trial balances and supporting schedules for the Controller and external tax preparer.
  • Review tax adjustments received from the tax preparer and update the general ledger accordingly.
  • Assist the Controller with annual file cleanup and account maintenance following tax season.
  • Support lender reporting, financial reporting, and other accounting projects during non-peak periods.
  • Analyze account activity, research discrepancies, and resolve reconciling items.
  • Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of strong general ledger accounting experience required.
  • Experience preparing trial balances and supporting annual tax preparation.
  • Commercial real estate or property management accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi or MRI required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and organizational skills.
