Support Engineering Drafter (Contract)

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a
Support Engineer Drafter. This is a contract opportunity with Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) in Austin, TX. 

• Full-Time
• Work Hours: 8am-5pm

This role involves developing skills through structured assignments and receiving guidance from experienced colleagues, team leads, supervisors, or managers. It primarily focuses on providing engineering support and performing drafting tasks, including:

• Assisting engineering teams by organizing materials and creating project folder structures.

• Managing the SharePoint site and coordinating material deliveries for engineering partners.

• Organizing received materials, reviewing, uploading, and properly archiving them in our Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) following established protocols.

• Coordinating the delivery of materials to internal and external groups within LCRA. • Assisting in issuing "For Construction" documents and updating drawings based on field edits.

• Reading and interpreting engineering and construction drawings.

• Drafting drawings using established procedures, formats, and templates.

• Conducting office research related to technical records for equipment design and layouts. • Performing data entry in the departmental engineering database.

• Operating equipment such as plotters, printers, copiers, and scanners.

Must Haves:

• One or more years of experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis or drafting using computer-aided design software. A degree in computer-aided design or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. Driver’s license for traveling to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.)

Support experience with Civil 3D, Revit, Inventor, point-cloud manipulation. Have good organizational skills. Knowledge of Relay and Control engineering drawings.
