Job Title: Traffic Coordinator

Location: Aurora – NADC

Shift: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Reports to: Traffic Dept Supervisor

Job Summary and Mission

The ideal person will perform multi-faceted traffic department functions – rate shopping shipments (cost control), create BOL’s, submit routing requests via customer portals and email, schedule pickup appointments, traffic document maintenance, and filing.

Key Accountabilities

• Assist traffic dept. supervisor and lead by rate shopping LTL/FTL shipments to control costs.
• Using customer web-based TMS system to route orders.
• Contact carriers via phone or email to set up dock appointment pickups.
• Accurately complete assigned work with strict attention to detail.
• Prepare and maintain shipping records and files for future use.
• Observe and adhere to safety policies, report unsafe acts, and hazards, and help maintain a clean orderly department.
• Support and demonstrate company policies including, a code of conduct, ethical behavior, and OSHA compliance.
• Be a traffic team player to ensure all targets are met.
• Interact with other departments to ensure shipping and driver information is accurate.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written including phone and email.
• Good team skills to be able to work with others.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to learn, and follow instructions.
• Ability to read and write English language.
• Intermediate level computer skills – MS Office, some experience with Warehouse/Order Management systems desired.
• Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends, when necessary.

Education/Experience

• Completion of High School Diploma or GED
• Working knowledge of warehouse operations and functions
• Some office experience.
• Microsoft Office

• Vision correctable to 20/20
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
• Sitting 75% of the work shift.
• Pushing, pulling, bending, walking.
