Optician/Glasses Sales ***Training Provided

Exciting opportunity to join private optometry practice.

Duties include but not limited to:

Optical:

• Sales, Frame styling, Adjusting, Dispensing
• Greeting / welcoming patients with a smile and positive attitude – This must occur before anything else!
• Maintain positive relations with patients by insuring follow-up on any patient requests or customer service issues
• Checking Patients out, input fee slips and collecting payment
• Keep track of patient insurances, co-pays, deductibles and other expenses
• Calculate vision plan exam, eyewear and CL benefits quickly and efficiently
• Answer telephones professionally
• Schedule patient appointments
• Complete contact lens sales with proficiency and be knowledgeable about what role insurance plans and CL rebates play in the sales process
• Be knowledgeable about various brands of contact lenses
• Be knowledgeable about lenses and coatings and recommend products appropriately to patient’s wants/needs
• Utilize dispensing system as directed by the doctor
• Learn and become proficient with new practice management software
• Monitor and track frame boards
• Assist with stock, inventory and frame purchasing
• Educate current staff on proper sales methods
• Complete office cleaning as needed

Clinical

• Aid and oversee proper insurance authorizations and eligibility: verify insurance coverage and eligibility for vision (we accept Eyemed, VSP, Spectera, Davis/Superior, Icare) and Medicare
• Receive patients and ensure proper paperwork is given
• Assist with answering telephones and taking messages when necessary
• Assist with pretesting (Autorefractor, Neurolens, Icare tonometry, Retinal imaging, OCT) when necessary
• Help patients in finding out details about their insurance coverage
• Verify claims are being submitted correctly and assist with educating staff on filing claims properly
• Dispense patient contact lens orders and ensure all payments have been paid in full
• Educate and help guide other staff members with learning the new EMR (EyeCloudPro--very easy to use)

Required Education: High school diploma at minimum
