Job description

Technical Outside Sales — East Dallas Metro & East Texas

The Opportunity

We're looking for a motivated Outside Sales Representative to grow Hartfiel Automation's presence across East Dallas and East Texas. This isn't a drop-off-a-brochure kind of role. You'll be in the field consistently, averaging 12–15 customer meetings per week, building relationships, uncovering challenges, and delivering solutions that make a real difference on the factory floor. If high activity and momentum are things you thrive on, you'll fit right in.

What You'll Do

  • Own and grow a defined territory by connecting with the right people, from maintenance technicians to CEOs.
  • Uncover customer pain points and present automation solutions that solve real problems and move their business forward.
  • Keep a full, active pipeline. This role rewards consistency, follow-through, and a genuine love of being busy.
  • Stay curious, learn new technologies, and bring fresh ideas to your customers.
  • Partner with our engineers and support staff to craft tailored solutions for complex challenges.
  • Navigate objections and negotiations with confidence, always keeping the long-term relationship in mind.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of industrial or technical sales experience is a plus, but the right drive and attitude matter just as much.
  • A track record of growing a territory and hitting your targets.
  • Genuine technical curiosity. You don't need to know everything on day one, but you should love learning.
  • A strong communicator who connects equally well with engineers and executive-level decision makers.
  • A self-starter who manages their own schedule and stays accountable to activity goals without needing oversight.
  • Comfortable with constructive persistence. You know how to keep opportunities moving without burning bridges.

What We Offer

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) Match
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Generous PTO
  • And more!

We're not looking for someone to make the rounds. We're looking for someone who wants to build something. If that's you, we'd love to talk.
