Technical Sales Engineer – Industrial Process Controls & Automation

A global company with a facility located just outside of the Milwaukee, WI area is currently seeking several Technical Sales Engineers for Direct Hire opportunities with their growing team. These are exciting opportunities for Technical Sales Engineers or Technical Service Representatives looking for a company that offers excellent growth, professional development, long-term stability, and strong benefits.

Technical Sales Engineer salaries are anticipated to be in the $90,000–$110,000 range, based on each candidate’s experience and education. All well-qualified candidates will be considered regardless of pay rate.

Qualified Technical Sales Engineers will have most, if not all, of the following skills and experience:

• 3–5+ years of recent and relevant experience with technical sales of industrial process controls, automation systems, or related industrial equipment.

• Experience selling or supporting industrial process control and automation solutions for manufacturing, heat treatment, combustion, thermal processing, or related industrial applications is highly desirable.

• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand customer applications, identify equipment and process requirements, and recommend appropriate technical solutions.

• Experience reading and understanding mechanical and electrical blueprints, drawings, and schematics.

• Previous experience in a Technical Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, Technical Service Representative, or similar customer-facing technical role is highly preferred.

• Strong communication, presentation, customer relationship, and technical problem-solving skills.

• Must be able to travel approximately 25%–50%. The majority of travel is local or regional, with approximately 80% of travel consisting of day trips.

• A BS degree in Engineering is preferred but not essential. An Associate degree combined with relevant technical sales, industrial controls, or automation experience will be strongly considered.

• Must be able to work in the United States (no H-1 sponsorship or student visas considered).

• Must be able to complete standard pre-hire checks, including background check, drug screen, references, etc.
