Staff Accountant

RMH Systems, one of the largest material handling, packaging, robotics and industrial scale distributors in the Midwest, is currently seeking a well-organized and self-motivated Staff Accountant to support our operations.

The primary objective for this role is to help support our Controller and Asst Controller, and assist with the overall Accounting functions of the company. This position requires in depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and experience with risk management to ensure we comply with accounting regulations, maximize profits, and mitigate risks. We are looking for someone with 2-4 years of Accounting experience in a similar role.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end financial statement preparation and close processes.
• Analyze monthly sales, gross profit and expense data for monthly reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain monthly account reconciliations.
• Assist with cash management, forecasting and banking transactions.
• Assist with sales tax filings and tax regulation compliance as directed by accounting staff.
• Manage fleet vehicle expenses, title, tax and licensing.
• Work with Controller on lease accounting schedules for vehicles, equipment and real estate.
• Assist in annual budget process.
• Assist with annual physical inventory and adjusting entries.
• Backup Accounts Payable staff on check runs, entering invoices and setting up vendors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2-4 years’ experience in Accountant or in a similar role.
• Hands on experience with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management.
• Ability to collaborate with customer, consultants, vendors, and engineers.
• Excellent communication, and strong phone skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Efficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Strong knowledge of accounting software systems.

**Pay is based on experience, $55,000+

We work Monday-Thursday, 8:00-5:00 and Friday 8:00-4:30
