Evolus is a performance beauty company with a customer-centric approach focused on delivering breakthrough products. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to join our digital product team, where you will be leading quality for a suite of innovative commerce and loyalty solutions for medical practices, medical spas, and partners nationwide within our Evolus Practice App.

In this multi-faceted role, the ideal candidate will ensure quality of our current digital products and those products on our roadmap.  The ideal candidate must be results-oriented, capable of executing plans despite challenges. Productive cross-functional collaboration is a must, especially with product managers, developers, marketing, agencies, and commercial teams. You will work with the team to build intelligent and delightful experiences, and drive positive impact for our customers and consumers, in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, technology environment. You should be comfortable in uncharted territory as we envision unique and differentiated solutions for our customers and consumers in an otherwise legacy market.

Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:
The Quality Lead is focused on ensuring the quality of all digital products we have at Evolus and all those products that we are planning to launch in the future. You will:
  • Work closely with product managers in order to review, gather, identify UX and translate digital product needs into meaningful testing scenarios, test cases/UAT script for both backend and frontend experience.
  • Define testing / QA strategy, quality gates and create the formal QA processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient, effective testing. Implement UAT/QA process improvements based on analysis results.
  • Lead a team of QA testers and establish team metrics for measurement of quality to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track QA effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Define quality metrics, gather and analyze data and implement UAT/QA process improvements based on analysis results.
  • Create QA dashboards including but not limited to management review and pod review for tracking product and release health.
  • Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to verify software functionality, performance, and reliability to ensure product quality.
  • Define and roll out QA processes and standard work, and enforce best practice processes in the areas of functional, system and regression testing using a combination of manual and automated testing.
  • Implement user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure delivery of predictable, high-quality product release.
  • Own end-to-end UAT and lead the cross functional team to implement UAT
  • Identify and document software defects using a defect tracking system (Jira), regularly triage defects and provide daily/weekly status report to all the stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product manager and identify change requests/enhancements for next phase based on the UAT results.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing/product QA for ongoing deployments, enhancements and new product launches to ensure product high quality bug free product delivered to the end user.
  • Own end to end production bug resolution with customer service team along with managing KPI for production bug resolution.
  • Improve or maintain the formal QA processes (set-up JIRA test workflow), procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient, effective testing for both enhancement and regression testing.
  • Develop & review integration, regression test plans and collaborate with automation engineers to build necessary automations required to ensure product quality and certify the product quality.
  • Recognize the nature of each problem and ensure the right people are involved to help solve it. Be an active contributor to that solution, not just a communication facilitator.
  • Support the team on content updates on the website and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to wearing multiple hats depending on the organization’s changing need.
    Your Skills and Qualifications:
    • BA/BS degree required
    • 2+ years of experience in quality assurance for digital product  (digital technologies & platforms)
    • Working in a fast-paced, Agile/Scrum engineering environment delivering incremental software with high quality
    • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Highly motivated, capable of working in a self-driven, entrepreneurial environment. 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others.
    • Experience working in cross functional teams. Collaboration with relevant team players such as product managers, internal/external engineers, architects, web publishing teams and ERP teams is required.
    • You are technical with the aptitude and willingness to learn.
    • Must possess critical thinking.
    • Ability to function in a demanding environment.
    • Hands-on testing in various digital product platforms.
    • Experience with JIRA is a must.

    • Position reports directly to Executive Director – Digital products
    • Position is based in Newport Beach, CA. Hybrid schedule (Tuesday – Thursday onsite)

    Compensation & Total Rewards:

    The expected pay for this position is $112,000 - $146,000 salary + annual bonus compensation plan.
