CARVART, a leader in design and construction solutions, is looking to add an innovative Design Engineer to our team. The company works with globally renowned architecture and design firms to envision, engineer and execute advanced architectural solutions.

The Design Engineer role is exciting and pivotal to the solutions, products and services that are at the core of CARVART’s identity. CARVART offers a wide range of standard architectural products as well as custom solutions, design assist and construction management services. The Design Engineer role exists to create and visualize custom solutions. This could be modifying standard CARVART products or completely engineering solutions in a way that meet the design intent and are constructable. The role also supports product development and marketing collateral.

This is a position that involves collaboration with other departments to inform and craft decisions for designs as well as external architects, designers and vendors. The role is dynamic and the execution of the solutions will come in many forms: construction sketches, 3D BIM, 3D diagrams, mock-ups, presentations, virtual reality, renderings, animations. The foundation of this role is to innovate and create solutions that are functional and speak to the unique aesthetic CARVART has in the architectural and construction industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer custom architectural solutions using CARVART products
  • Produce opportunity-specific presentations that show solutions meet design intent and budget
  • Work directly with clients to understand design challenges and needs
  • Execute daily task list according to direction of director of pre-construction
  • Work with sales team to understand scope and need of each opportunity
  • Must have a strong command drafting and visualization of architectural systems and solutions that represent CARVART as a design-forward company
  • Must strategize the most appropriate type of visualization to communicate the solution in an efficient but appropriate way
  • Must design solutions that accommodate budgets and understand a range of solutions that contribute to value engineering an opportunity
  • Manage and update product standards, collateral and internal content
  • Update and manage marketing materials and company assets to reflect any changes or modifications to company collateral

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate / advanced industry knowledge of construction-based and architectural solutions and designs. Relevant experience is necessary in design, construction, manufacturing and fabrication. Must have experience with shop drawing creation, fabrication drawings, 3D visualization and visual + narrative-based presentations.
  • Must be able to design architectural solutions and make appropriate decisions
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in 2D and 3D drafting and visualization. Advanced skills in AutoCAD and Inventor. Intermediate knowledge of Bluebeam editing and mark ups. Intermediate skills of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign). Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • Drafting: 2 years (Required)
  • AutoCAD: 4 years (Required)
  • Sketchup: 3 years (Required)
  • Design Engineering: 1 year (Required)
  • Construction: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Product Engineering: 1 year (Required)
