Job Description

The TPA Project Manager is part of the MWG-Administrators Division in the Administrative Department.

This is an exempt, salaried role that reports directly to the TPA Operations Manager.

The position is located at 500 Steed Road, Ridgeland, MS. 39157.


GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The TPA Project Manager will assist other department managers with leading and communicating goals and objectives to the staff within each department. The ideal person would have extensive experience and rely on that experience to make decisions as well as to plan and accomplish goals. They will clearly and effectively communicate issues, objectives, initiatives, or performance objectives. This person will use policy and procedure in making almost all decisions. To perform the job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Works closely with the VP of MWG-Administrators, TPA Operations Manager, TPA Managers, and Programmers to determine needs and timelines for the successful implementation of projects.
  • Continuously monitors activity towards project goals and ensures that activity coincides with the established timeline for each project.
  • Communicates project goals and expectations with the staff and/or managers involved in the project.
  • Works with TPA Managers to develop detailed, achievable work plans that clearly lay out required tasks needed to execute the completion of the plan as initially developed.
  • Manages project/event timelines.
  • Takes action to ensure the appropriate tools and resources are being utilized to meet established deadlines.
  • Reviews and ensures quality assurance in the TPA.
  • May initiate and oversee new training or policy implementation.
  • Assists in problem-solving and suggesting resolution for issues in the department.
  • May suggest revision to existing policies and procedures when needed.
  • Attends and participates in supervisory meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the TPA Operations Manager.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Must have previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Certified Project Manager designation is a plus.
  • Must have experience managing and testing software development.
  • Must have 2 years' experience managing projects for multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Must have excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Tools.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Skill Levels in Microsoft Excel and Word are required.
  • Must possess strong time management, organizational, problem solving, and customer service
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to perform in a very high paced environment and professionally handle interruptions.
  • Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to prioritize projects, work multiple projects simultaneously, and meet project deadlines.
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and have keen attention to details.
  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations appropriately.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and privacy in every aspect of the job.

JOB ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Must have basic typing skills
  • Must be able to work as scheduled.
  • Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position as stated above can be fully met.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and sit or stand at a desk during 85% of the workday.
  • Must be able to lift, stoop, and carry small equipment items and supplies, possibly weighing up to 20lbs.
