Job Title: Commercial Bakery Sanitation Manager

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6am to 4pm 

Company Overview: We are a leading commercial bakery located in Plant City, Florida, specializing in the production of high-quality baked goods for local and regional markets. Committed to excellence and food safety, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sanitation Manager to oversee the cleanliness and sanitation protocols within our facility.

Position Overview: As the Commercial Bakery Sanitation Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation are maintained throughout our bakery facility. You will lead a team of sanitation technicians and work closely with production and quality assurance teams to uphold food safety regulations and uphold our commitment to producing safe and superior baked goods.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and enforce sanitation procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, and OSHA standards.
2. Lead and supervise a team of sanitation technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure adherence to sanitation standards and procedures.
3. Conduct regular inspections of the bakery facility, equipment, and production areas to identify and address sanitation issues, potential hazards, and areas for improvement.
4. Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to develop and maintain cleaning schedules and sanitation checklists for equipment, workspaces, and production lines.
5. Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and waste materials in accordance with safety guidelines and regulations.
6. Monitor and maintain inventory of sanitation supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels to support daily operations.
7. Investigate and address sanitation-related incidents, complaints, or non-compliance issues, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures as needed.
8. Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to food safety and sanitation, and implement updates to sanitation protocols accordingly.
9. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sanitation activities, including cleaning logs, inspection reports, and training records.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sanitation management, preferably in a food manufacturing or bakery environment.
• Strong knowledge of sanitation principles, practices, and regulations, including HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively train, motivate, and manage a team.
• Detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to identify sanitation issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and sanitation software/systems preferred.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
