AWS Technical Lead (Hybrid -Charlotte, NC)

 

We are looking to hire a candidate with the skill sets mentioned and experience for one of our clients within the financial services industry. This position is hybrid out of the client’s Charlotte, NC office. This is a 6-month contract with the potential for extension (s). Local candidates in NC are highly preferred and encouraged to apply.


Job Summary:

 

As a tech lead, leads the development of cloud services and platform solutions needed to host business-critical applications that differentiate LPL in the market. This is a hands-on, technical lead role in the Advisory organization that will develop cloud-native services to support LPL’s overall cloud strategy and migration to AWS.

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and participate in the design, architecture, and development of solutions using modern cloud-based architecture and tools.
  • Accountable for redesigning legacy systems from on-prem to cloud-based solutions.
  • Build and define the best practices for common/reusable components.
  • Build scalable/resilient solutions and ensure proper instrumentation is in place for the overall observability of platforms and services.
  • Participate in Scrum/Kanban delivery model to deliver sprint releases through stories/epics utilizing Jira to track all development work and track overall velocity.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • 5+ years of designing, and developing utilizing common AWS services like EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, ELB, Any RDS, Streaming (Kafka), Messaging (SQS, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ), Caching (Redis, Ignite, Redshift, elastic), NO-SQL and API Gateway.
  • 10+ years of proficiency in at least one language C#, .Net Core, and experience in full-stack development.
  • 10+ years of experience working with RDBMS technologies like MSSQL, Oracle, or any other.
  • 5+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • 3+ years of experience in a lead role by overseeing the development team, delivering with quality, coaching the team with the best practices.
  • Any AWS certificate is preferred.
  • Experience with confluent/MSK Kafka is preferred.
  • Any RDS specialization is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of distributed/decoupled systems using messaging platforms.
  • Strong understanding and experience with any Relational/non-relational databases.
  • In-depth understanding of AWS’s Well-Architected Frameworks.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of modern work practices such as DevSecOps, Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), Agile project Delivery, Release Engineering.
  • Highly collaborative with experience in a hands-on technical leadership role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong executive presence.
  • Ability to convey technical solutions to the entire organization and experience working with senior leaders across the firm to leverage technology to drive positive business outcomes.
