 Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AWS Architect to design, build, and optimize scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure modernization, application migration, DevOps practices, security, and enterprise cloud governance. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, application teams, infrastructure teams, security teams, and delivery partners to define cloud strategy and deliver high-quality AWS solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement AWS cloud architectures aligned with business, security, scalability, and performance requirements.

Lead cloud migration, modernization, and transformation initiatives from on-premises or other cloud platforms to AWS.

Define end-to-end solution architecture covering compute, storage, networking, database, security, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and automation.

Develop architecture patterns, reference models, landing zones, and reusable cloud templates.

Work with application teams to modernize workloads using AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, Route 53, and related services.

Establish cloud governance, security controls, access management, compliance, tagging, cost optimization, and operational best practices.

Collaborate with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated deployments, and environment provisioning.

Assess existing applications and infrastructure to recommend cloud migration strategies such as rehost, replatform, refactor, retire, or retain.

Ensure high availability, resilience, disaster recovery, and performance optimization across AWS environments.

Provide technical leadership, guidance, and architecture reviews for project teams.

Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into practical cloud solutions.

Create architecture documentation, design diagrams, migration plans, runbooks, and operational handover materials.

Stay current with AWS services, cloud-native technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

8+ years of IT experience, with at least 4+ years of hands-on AWS architecture experience.

Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services including compute, storage, networking, databases, security, monitoring, and automation.

Experience designing secure and scalable AWS environments using VPC, IAM, security groups, KMS, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, AWS Config, and related services.

Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

Experience with application migration and modernization on AWS.

Strong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, VPN, Direct Connect, load balancing, routing, firewalls, and subnet design.

Experience with container platforms such as Amazon ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.

Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, AWS CodePipeline, or similar platforms.

Experience with monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and cost optimization practices.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and lead architecture discussions across multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Associate certification.

Experience with enterprise landing zone design and multi-account AWS environments.

Experience with data platforms, analytics, AI/ML, or Databricks on AWS.

Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, life sciences, financial services, or manufacturing.

Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, or GDPR.
