Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Staff Accountant will cover monthly close activities with a focus on accounting for outsourced vendor contracts for clinical areas. The individual will collaborate with the Accounting Manager on a variety of projects and activities, including support of the annual audit and assisting with strategic and functional initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and post monthly general ledger journal entries, including accruals
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain Fixed Asset module of ERP system
Process Bi-Weekly Payroll
Review cash entries and payables posted by the AP Clerk
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Assist with accounting processes, implementation,and improvement
Maintain and strengthen internal control and safeguards for non-inventory, fixed assets, and other accounting areas
Develop and maintain models for clinical activities by working with the operational teams, reviewing contracts and general ledger activity

Coordinate required information for both quarterly and annual audits, as well as annual tax returns
Assist stock equity administrator, as needed
Experience using NetSuite
Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a BS degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of experience in pharma/biotech finance roles and/or public accounting; CPA is preferred
Experience using an accounting ERP system, such as NetSuite and ADP workforce
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail and accuracy of work performed
Collaborative working style, ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment
Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
