Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our remote workforce. This role demands a professional with a strong background in accounting practices, proficiency in QuickBooks Online, and a familiarity with U.S. Federal, State, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with navigating the complexities of finance in a dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Meet financial accounting objectives.
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. CPA certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a comprehensive understanding of QuickBooks Online.
• Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Federal, State, and local tax.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to work remotely and maintain a high level of self-direction and motivation.
• High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to confidentiality.
• Familiarity with video conferencing tools like FaceTime for regular communication and virtual meetings.
• Knowledge of Federal Taxation is a huge plus.
