Plant 1 Mill Operator

Summary:

Safely and efficiently operate Plant 1 equipment (rod mill, float process, extractor, dryer) while collecting samples, mixing reagents, making reagent changes in a safe manner and making manual and electronic adjustments to ensure that product meets customer specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Observe processing equipment operation to ensure efficient production. Make adjustments as needed to mill speed and hydrosizer ensure product flows through process without interruption and within specification. Change flow to holding bins. Observe equipment for leaks. Report equipment malfunctions to maintenance department. Make routine electrical and mechanical repairs.

• Monitor sump pumps for clogs.

• Refill chemical holding tanks (sulfuric and hydrofluoric acid).

• Adjust chemical flow into bins to ensure proper product specification is met.

• Train and observe lesser qualified employees to ensure standards are met.

• Maintain production records.

• Other duties as assigned.

Skill/knowledge Requirement:

• Communication skills required to listen actively, follow instructions, and convey important information.

• Must have reading and writing skills for documenting production.

Required Activities:

Must be able to bend, stoop, and balance while lifting and/or holding 50 lbs. Frequently climbing stairs,

standing and walking. Exposed to weather elements and odors from chemical processing. Overtime

required when needed.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma
