Asphalt Milling Foreman 

Location: Haw River, North Carolina (regional travel required)
Salary: $60,000 - $90,000 Base Salary


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Milling Foreman to oversee asphalt milling operations on roadway and commercial paving projects throughout North Carolina and its surrounding region. This role is responsible for supervising crews, coordinating equipment and logistics, and ensuring safe, high-production execution in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, equipment knowledge, and hands-on experience in milling operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily milling operations on roadway and asphalt projects
  • Supervise crews, operators, and subcontractors to maintain production goals
  • Coordinate milling equipment, trucking, and site logistics
  • Plan sequencing and traffic control to ensure efficient workflow
  • Monitor milling depth, grade, and surface quality to meet specifications
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with DOT requirements
  • Track daily production, equipment utilization, and field reporting
  • Communicate with paving teams and project stakeholders to stay on schedule

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in asphalt milling, paving, or heavy highway construction
  • Experience leading crews or acting in a foreman/supervisory capacity
  • Working knowledge of milling equipment
  • Understanding of roadway construction, grades, and surface prep
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Experience on DOT or state-funded roadway projects (NCDOT a plus)
