What you will be doing:

The QC Engineer is responsible for reviewing map data in proprietary company database formats against field collected data or third-party data sources which reflect the real-world road network. The QC Engineer is responsible for understanding client requirements for map data specific to that client, reviewing and correcting the map data to conform to client specifications, and providing feedback on data quality to managers, co-workers, clients, and subcontractors responsible for collecting the map data.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Quality Documentation accuracy
  • Conduct client-based quality assessments of map data in database format
  • Analyze Trajectory & Point Cloud Data for consistency and accuracy
  • Manage and track flow of data from field to production Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies

Work Environment:

  • Works in a fast-paced office environment with multiple priorities and competing demands; potential set-backs in project completion due to internal or external issues, resourcing and re-allocation.
  • Regular office hours with some requirements for additional work during busy times.
  • May work for long periods reviewing data on computer.



What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor's Degree with major course work in GIS, geography, planning, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • Three years of professional experience in either GIS mapping or Data Quality Management.
  • Experience with relational database principles including structured query language (SQL).
