Product Development Manager

Summary: Reporting to the CEO, the Product Development Manager’s primary responsibility is to manage resources and processes required for new product development projects with speed to market. This position coordinates with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure the new products meet development targets and support the organization's financial goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:
oCollaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, procurement, sales and production to ensure successful product development, and provide post-product launch feedback for constant improvement.
oCreate and manage project timelines and budgets.
oIdentify and mitigate potential risks throughout the product development process.
oProvide guidance on any product testing needed.
oEnsure compliance with state or federal regulatory requirements.
oMonitor the latest industry trends and technologies.
oResearch/develop new manufacturing processes & materials, to include costing and ROI expectations.
oProvide detailed reports to leadership regarding competing products.
oResearch and report on new manufacturing processes.
oTravel as necessary to evaluate new manufacturing processes and equipment. Visit machine developers, factories and tradeshows, both domestically and internationally, to review machines, tools and new products.
oExplore opportunities with outside vendors to enhance and optimize products.
oAccountability for third party partners.
oPerform other related duties as needed or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
oStrong understanding of product development processes.
oStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
oStrong project management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
oExcellent collaboration and written/verbal communication skills.
oAbility to adjust to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines promptly and efficiently.
oAbility to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
oAbility to closely manage third party vendor partners.
oUnderstanding of regulatory requirements.
oProficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel.
oWorking knowledge of ERP system, NetSuite preferred.
o3D CAD experience, SolidWorks preferred.
Education/Experience:
o10 years or more of contract furniture industry experience, leading product development efforts in a manufacturing environment.
oExperience in or exposure to behavioral healthcare preferred
oBachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent combination of skills/experience.
