A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PRODUCTION FLOOR SUPERVISOR

The Production Supervisor supports the goals of the company through supervision of manufacturing employees. Plans, assist and assigns work, monitors production standards, safety and efficiency to ensure production goals are met.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership and direction to manufacturing employees to ensure quality, safety, and production goals are met.
• Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work of manufacturing employees.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.

• Collaborates with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities in and among departments.
• Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
• Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must have well developed communication and basic math skills, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, efficient multi-tasking abilities, ability to supervise multiple workers in an often fast-paced environment, and be able to foster a positive team working environment.
• General understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, and policies.
• General understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques.
• Must be able to work Monday thru Friday between 7am-4pm.

• Production Supervisor: Two years or more preferred.

• The ability to stand, sit and/or walk repeatedly throughout most of the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
• Personal protective equipment is available and will be required to be worn as the situation dictates.
