Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Tax & Accounting Director at MSLP. The Director will be responsible for tax compliance, tax preparation, and financial statement analysis. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting. This role is located in either Orlando or Salt Lake City with the option to be fully remote if desired.

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 8 years of experience, ideally with exposure to the practices and standards of the Big 4/Nationwide accounting firms. This role is designed for a professional who excels in financial analysis, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning, with a proven track record in managing financial statements, tax preparations, and audit processes. The ideal candidate will bring a depth of professional expertise, coupled with a commitment to upholding the highest levels of integrity and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, and stay updated with changes in tax legislation.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support the executive team in decision-making processes.
• Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
• Implement best practices in financial analysis and reporting, leveraging experience from Big 4 firms to enhance departmental and organizational performance.
• Manage and oversee complex financial projects, demonstrating leadership and strategic planning capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid CPA license.
• Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates with Big 4 accounting firm experience and/or large firm experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting principles.
• Proficient in accounting software and systems, with a keen ability to adapt to new technologies.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the proficiency to communicate complex financial information clearly.
