Lunch Assistant

Indy West Christian School is seeking a committed Christian individual to fill a part time Lunch Assistant opening for the 2024 -2025 school year. The ideal candidate has the ability to relate well to students and adults, is organized, confidential and has the ability to multitask, coordinate, manage and prioritize.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Principal, the lunch assistant is responsible for assisting the lunch coordinator at their assigned school.

Required Professional Qualities

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products.
• First Aid CPR certified
• Ability to work with teachers, administration, parents, and students.

• Partner with the lunch coordinator and the local school district food service manager to execute the lunch program.
• Assist in serving lunches.

• Clean high touch surfaces such as light switches, doorknobs, handrails, counter tops, microwaves, and tables using soapy water or other cleaners (bleach and Lysol), based on an hourly cleaning schedule during the school day.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners, in order to prevent damage fixtures and high touch surfaces.

• Work together as a unit with other team members, rendering formal and informal assistance as necessary.
• Exhibit confidentiality regarding students and parents.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward the school and with students, parents, and administration.
• Participate in in-service programs as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Lunch Coordinator or administration.
• Possess a conviction of God's calling to the Christian school ministry.
• Follow the Matthew 18 principle in all relationships and in dealing with conflict.

• Prolonged periods standing.
• Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
