​In this role you will be a senior member of the Data Science Team, reporting to the Director of Analytics & Advanced Insights. You will regularly partner with technical and business stakeholders from teams across the company, using the tools and methods of data science to create data-driven insights and drive organizational success. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide array of data analytics resources across our extensive data environment, as we build our BI, data science, and advanced analytics capabilities. Along the way, you will help have a direct leadership role in shaping the future of analytics at Advisor360°.

The ideal candidate will bring with them knowledge of industry best practices and processes to collaborate was we develop our solutions for predictive analytics, machine learning, statistical inference, testing and experimentation, ML operations and deployment, quantitative R&D, and technical communication.

Key responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for developing impactful and actionable insights from our data to support and extend the product roadmap, enhance platform functionality, and drive our broader product strategy
  • Maintain a clear leadership role to design, test, train, evaluate, maintain, document, and deploy machine learning and statistical models
  • Be a principal partner with engineering, product, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to understand their business objectives and drive requirements for data-driven projects using the principles of machine learning and statistical analysis
  • Provide deep technical expertise and leadership for the design and development of machine learning production operations
  • Lead troubleshooting, remediation, and optimization efforts for core analytics processes
  • Find opportunities and solutions across all dimensions of the business in which data science and advanced analytics can provide insights, drive operational improvements, improve customers satisfaction, and help "move the needle" for our key business outcomes
  • Be one of Advisor360°'s recognized experts on quantitative analysis and machine learning methodologies, working with colleagues and stakeholders to improve company-wide understanding of the use of predictive analytics
  • Lead efforts to drive continuous improvements in our machine learning, prediction, data, model deployment, experimentation, monitoring, and reporting capabilities
  • Champion the role of data science and be a trusted, objective, and recognized "voice of the data" across the organization
  • Help mentor early career colleagues
  • Support ad hoc request from the business that require advanced analytical and modeling capabilities
Preferred Strengths
  • Experience working with cloud-based analytics data platforms, e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience with tools and methods of project management, including code repositories, documentation, agile methods, and basic principles of DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of financial industry and financial data
Requirements, skills, and knowledge
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a quantitative field (or equivalent)
  • 5-7 years of experience working in a role involving data science, statistical analysis, or other field requiring substantial and regular use of applied quantitative methods
  • Demonstrated expertise in machine learning and predictive modeling, including model design, training, testing, and evaluation
  • Very strong knowledge of applied statistical methods, including hypothesis testing, sampling, visualization, and forecasting
  • Expert-level skills in using core data science tools, libraries, frameworks, and applications, e.g., SQL, Python, R, Jupyter, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
  • Significant experience with modern MLOps practices, including deployment, release management, monitoring, documenting, and maintenance of production models
  • Very proficient working with large and diverse volumes of complex business data
  • Team player with the ability to work in meaningful cross-functional partnerships
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts and translate them into actionable business recommendations
  • Ability to independently and consistently identify impactful business challenges and opportunities that can be solved, optimized, or accelerated through the application of the methods of data science

  • Ability and willingness to mentor less experienced colleagues
