Job Description

The National Coordination Center (NCC), powered by Edera L3C, is a fast-growing healthcare consultancy that connects the nation's brightest minds to help solve some of the biggest challenges in healthcare. We team healthcare industry experts with our consulting professionals to deliver integrated solutions in areas such as quality, technology adoption, telehealth, workflow improvement, innovation, patient experience, and interoperability. Profits beyond our sustainability goals are reinvested into communities (e.g., community improvement initiatives) or clients (e.g., indirect rate reinvestment or alignment).​

Our team of management consulting, technology, and creative services consultants work collaboratively with experts from clinical and revenue cycle  offerings to develop transformational business solutions across government and commercial clients.

The Medical Device Industry Advisor will serve as an expert supporting client delivery as a member of a collaborative project team. The ideal candidate for this role will have in-depth knowledge of the full life cycle of product development, key business processes and workflows, organizational structures, regulatory and compliance requirements, and relevant technologies.

We are looking for motivated independent professionals with industry and/or consulting experience working in or advising medical device companies to support an initial short-term engagement with the potential for additional project work across NCC clients.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide expertise and insights on the medical device product development life cycle, industry business processes, organizational structures, operations, and relevant supporting software and technology.
  • Apply insights on industry challenges, opportunities, and trends in support of strategic planning, change management, product development, and/or other client consulting engagements with medical device manufacturers (or support vendors)
  • Evaluate strategies, plans, and approaches to business process, technology, and organizational initiatives
  • Build relationships with client stakeholders and project teams
  • Facilitate client and team discussions and workshops
  • Author or contribute to client deliverables and work products

 Required Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Advanced knowledge of industry trends and challenges of leading medical device corporations 
  • Deep commercial awareness of the medical device industry, gained through experience
  • Proven ability to advance ambiguous or conceptual ideas and engage multiple stakeholders, internal and clients, to decision points
  • Leadership experience in complex organizations and experiencing working with senior executives
  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of technologies used in the medical device industry
  • Word and PowerPoint competent, the ability to develop clear storylines 

Desired/Preferred: 

  • Consulting experience and knowledge of consulting methods, tools, techniques highly desired  

Education: 

  • 4-year BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university 

 Experience: 

  • 10+ years of medical device industry experience and demonstrated knowledge of:
    • R&D 
    • Regulatory affairs and compliance
    • Sales and Marketing 
    • Quality Assurance
    • Relevant software and systems products
    • Manufacturing and production processes
