Scope and Purpose:

ManhattanLife continues to grow our business and our team. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Systems Administrator in our Houston, Texas headquarters. In this position, you will be responsible for the installation, administration, security, and optimization of our Microsoft client server environment to achieve and maintain high performance and availability. You will have the opportunity to make an impact with an established organization as it continues to grow.

This role includes ensuring the availability and security of systems and applications, working on new projects, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing administration of the entire environment. Scope of responsibilities include server hardware and software, Azure/Office 365, networking hardware and software, Cisco security tools and numerous 3rd party solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Active Directory 2012/2016/2019/2022 on premise and AD Services in MS Azure, including AD Users & Computers, Site and Services (Establishing & Managing Trusts), Group Policies, DNS, Federation Services, SSO, NTFS permissions, etc.
  • Core networking concepts and services such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, switching, routing, WAN/ISP connectivity etc.
  • Monitor and work tickets within the ConnectWise Manage (PSA) platform, ensuring timely resolution of support requests. Operate as escalation point and mentor the HelpDesk team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS encryption, certificates, and installation process.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable technical resource on server systems, hardware, and software.
  • Build Windows server VMware virtual machines, install software, and services in accordance with the current IT best practices.
  • Ensure security and reliability through patch and revision management of all systems.
  • Provide expert level troubleshooting and problem resolution in servers and associated systems.
  • Maintain VMware servers including performance, networking, coordinate upgrades with vendor.
  • Manage mail systems including Office 365 and Cisco Secure Mail.
  • Experience with malware containment and remediation across all platforms.
  • Ability to manage, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot storage equipment and related services, is a plus.
  • Experience with Cisco Security stack: DUO, Cloudlock, AMP, Secure Email, Umbrella, Firepower Threat Defense, ISE, AnyConnect VPN, ThousandEyes is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • At least 7 years either professional System Administration experience or MSP (Managed Service Provider) experience.
  • At least 5 years supporting the following core Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Azure / Office365.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience resolving issues with Cisco TAC is a plus.
  • Cisco Unified Communications experience is a plus.
  • Cisco Webex experience is a plus.
  • Cisco Meraki experience is a plus.
  • ConnectWise Manage, ConnectWise Automate, ConnectWise IT Boost experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with HIPPA/PCI, other compliance standards is a plus.
  • Veeam backup solutions experience is a plus.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions experience is a plus.
  • Microsoft 365 E5 Security Suite experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HelpDesk management solutions is a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, accurate, and able to efficiently solve problems.
  • Strong team player, mature, independent, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional Customer service skills while working with diverse personality types.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to take responsibility and accountability for actions.

Travel Requirements:

This position may require light travel within a ten-mile radius from one office location to another as needed.
