Position Summary:

GEOST seeks an enthusiastic and highly capable Senior Program Manager with recent experience in successfully delivering systems to customers. Experience in managing programs including electronics, software and EO sensors on space or ground systems is desired.  The successful candidate will lead efforts for EO space missions, ground-based sensor networks, and research and development of new and novel technologies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage schedule, cost, risk, and resources over the full course of highly technical projects.
  • Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions.
  • Lead team(s) of engineers in planning and executing test events and resolving issues encountered, both operational and technical.
  • Work proactively to complete tasks and meet assigned deadlines with little direction.
  • Communicate effectively with team members across disciplines, with project management, and particularly with customers.
  • Lead program and customer meetings and reviews.
  • Lead technical interchange meetings with the team members and other project personnel and represent the organization in matters pertaining to project development.
  • Develop Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for projects.
  • Support proposal and ECP efforts as required.
  • Provide proposal support for upcoming proposals.


Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, physics, mathematics or computer science or relevant field, or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Seven to Ten years of applicable program management experience in the Aerospace industry.
  • Experience in proposal management and program startup.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing planning, procurement, and defense contract negotiations.
  • Proven track record of motivating and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in customer relations, managing requirements, and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Fundamental understanding of manufacturing technology, products, and applications within the Defense market sector.
  • Ability to analyze demand and forecast data for performance metrics and anticipation of market trends.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience performing and working in a dynamic and high-visibility role.
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to lead a team to the completion of program and project milestones.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills and sound problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to support travel or off-site work as needed.
  • Hands -on expertise with active optical systems.
  • An active US Government Security Clearance. Current TS/SCI is preferred.
