Assistant Project Manager Construction

Primary Function

This position is full-time, managing mechanical & plumbing projects primarily in the life science & tech sector throughout San Diego County.

Perform all administrative functions with regards to cost/schedule control, delivering every assigned project on time and on budget.

Typical Duties

• The Assistant Project Manager has the primary role of assisting the Project Manager with the leadership, planning, organization, control, coordination and direction of project management to meet the profit and growth objectives of Pacific Rim Mechanical. Build and maintain relationships with customers on a project by project basis.

• Provides assistance in utilizing the project management resources to act for the company in matters pertaining to the successful progress and completion of assigned projects according to established schedules and specifications.

• Assists the Project Manager in the marketing and sales activities of the company, including business development,
• sales, and direct customer relations.

• 
  Assists in estimating for selected projects as assigned.

• Assists the Project Manager in managing multiple projects concurrently ranging in size from thousands to millions of dollars.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager in commercial/industrial construction
• Experience with design/build delivery a plus
• Experience managing mechanical, plumbing, process or BMS/BAS controls scope preferred but not required
• Experience building laboratories or cleanrooms also preferred but not required.
• Engineering, Construction Management degree or trade experience preferred
• Proficient with BlueBeam and MS Suite of programs
• Familiarity with BIM platforms, coordination execution and VDC management a plus
• Self- Directed/motivated
• Organized
• Excellent communicator (written & verbal)
• Be coachable

Salary Range

$80,000 - $90,000 annually based on experience. (FSLA Exempt)
