We are seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable clerk with experience in the insurance industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the manager of the accounting department as well as assisting in all other areas of the accounting department.

Job Description:
We are seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable clerk with experience in the insurance industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the manager of the accounting department as well as assisting in all other areas of the accounting department.
Job Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
As directed by the Accounting Manager, assist the accounts payable and accounts receivable clerks with the following:
· Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts payable data.
· Process accounts receivable transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data.
· Prepare bills receivable, invoices, and bank deposits.
· Reconcile the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
· Verify discrepancies and resolve billing issues with clients.
· Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
· Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts payable and accounts receivable status.
· Assist in all other areas of the accounting department.
Requirements:
· Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role.
· Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
· Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
· Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
· Firsthand experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software.
· Experience with Bank Reconciliation
· Experience with QuickBooks
· Proficiency in English and in MS Office, especially, in Excel.
· Desire and ability to learn new software programs/systems.
· Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
· BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or at least 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting role.
