Mechanical Engineering Manager/Lead

Essential Job Functions:
The Mechanical Engineering Manager/Lead will play a crucial role in driving the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Mechanical Design: Provide technical expertise in the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for medical devices, incorporating principles of engineering design, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Engineering Analysis: Conduct engineering analysis, simulations, and testing to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical designs, identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and requirements (e.g., FDA regulations, ISO standards) throughout the product development lifecycle, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to mechanical engineering activities, proactively addressing technical challenges, and ensuring the successful resolution of issues.
- Communication: Effectively communicate project updates, technical findings, and strategic recommendations to senior management, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders as needed.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in the medical device industry, with a strong track record of successfully leading engineering teams.
- Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements for medical devices.
Skills (Required):
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex engineering problems, interpret technical data, and make data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering talent.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, flexible, and practical
Physical:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $125,000 - $175,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on several factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package for our employees and their dependents, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a generous PTO policy, and new hire stock options.
