Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a proactive, energetic, and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of procurement, including vendor negotiations, cost savings initiatives, vendor relationship management, and purchase order processing. This role requires strong communication skills, negotiation abilities, and strong detail orientation to ensure efficient and cost-effective purchasing

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Promptly resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Cost Savings Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies to optimize purchasing processes and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service.
  • Vendor Negotiations: Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors to achieve the best value for the company. Continuously evaluate vendor performance against pre-determined criteria/scorecard and seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Purchase Order Management: Oversee the creation, issuance, and tracking of purchase orders to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and budgetary objectives.
  • Resolution of PO Discrepancies: Work closely with vendors and operations team members to resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and deliveries. Address issues such as incorrect quantities, damaged / defective goods, or billing discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Vendor Harmonization: Streamline the company’s vendor base by consolidating purchases with preferred suppliers, negotiating volume discounts, and standardizing procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications – Education, Experience, License/Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience, including certifications, will be considered.
  • Proven experience (3-5+ years) in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management roles, preferably in commercial printing or manufacturing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms with vendors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with proven negotiation skills to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Proficiency in flowcharting, procurement software and ERP systems for purchase order processing, process optimization, and data analysis.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $75,000 - $115,000 and is largely comprised of a bonus tied to achieving cost-cutting objectives. The compensation range displayed reflects the proposed minimum and maximum target compensation for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, prior experience, relevant education, certification or training, and overall bonus attainment.
