Accountant

An international company is seeking a Staff Accountant in Torrance. This is a direct hire opportunity offering great benefits.

• Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
• $25 – 30 per hour, non-exempt

Requirements of the Accountant:

• At least 3 years of accounting experience in the areas of accounts payable A/P, closing, and GL reconciliations
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related, is preferred
• GAAP knowledge
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suites
• Bilingual in Japanese is a big plus
• Team player with a positive proactive attitude

Responsibilities of the Accountant:

• Review financial data, accounts payable, and accounts receivable preparations
• Monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing
• Investigate and adjust discrepancies on financial reports
• Maintain prepaid schedule, fixed asset ledger, rent schedules, and other related
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Create and review invoices, credit memo, statements, employee expenses, and receipts
• Prepare check runs including manual check, EFT, and ACH
• Post and reconcile daily cash, credit cards, and delivery deposits
• Process deposit checks
• Prepare and post accrual entries for unreceived invoices
• Manage cash flow
• Prepare indirect tax filing including 1099
• Support fellow staff members with training and development
• Other related duties to be assigned as needed
