Contracts Manager, R&D

The Piasecki Aircraft Corporation Contracts Manager is responsible for the management, administration, extension, termination and negotiation of standard and nonstandard contracts in accordance with company procedures. The Contracts Manager will play an active role in the prevention of problems during the execution of company contracts by highlighting potential areas of concerns and proactively designing and applying solutions in partnership with executive leadership

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitate proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
• Examine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare bids; process specifications, progress, and other reports; advise management of contractual rights and obligations; compile and analyze data; and maintain historical information.
• Apply Federal statutes, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to administer a group of complex contracts
• Use negotiation and communication techniques in order to conduct post award negotiations and a variety of contractual agreements
• Apply cost and price analysis techniques sufficient to compare proposals
• Apply business and industry practices to identify factors affecting contractor’s costs
• Apply cost accounting standards and accounting practices in order to review and draw accurate conclusions on contract provisions

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

• 6+ years experience in aerospace/defense contract management (required)
• Ability to interpret completion specifications and work orders
• Ability to establish, track and maintain current status of aircraft in work relative to contractual specifications and requirements
• Extensive knowledge of FARS and DFARS.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, preferred

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal studies, pre-law, or a relevant field; master’s degree preferred
• Juris doctorate is a plus
