POSITION OBJECTIVE: Supports and leads manufacturing program launch initiatives within the Materials, Planning and Logistics department, while also monitoring and coordinating activities of assigned Production team members.

SHIFT:   5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday, with some hours required on Fridays and Saturdays.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist team members in solving work-related issues related to launch activities.
  • Assist with monitoring quality of product/processes, quality audits, maintaining quality system, and other items as needed during the launch process.
  • Reject defective parts, and document type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag.
  • Responsible for maintaining 5S in department and periodically participating with HU audit process.
  • Responsible for training MP&L team members on new product during launch and into steady state.
  • Complete Workstation Readiness worksheet before start of production.
  • Responsible for the updating of all new part labeling at the production line, supermarkets, and all other storage locations
  • Establish priorities to meet required target launch dates
  • Analyze material presentation and containerization strategies to optimize workstation layouts.
  • Recommend product/process improvements based on analysis of individual build events.
  • Communicate product/process related issues and collaborate with Engineering to develop solutions.
  • Incorporate new content into current processes.
  • Write Standardized Work for both Gamma and Production Builds where required
  • Participate in Launch Reviews
  • Act as a subject matter expert to train, coach and support Team Leads and Team Members on new job elements, product and technology changes.
  • Recommend error-proofing strategies based on build experience.
  • Participate in PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis) workshops and recommend correct actions to reduce risk.
  • Travel, as required, to participate in Gamma and pre-production builds and Equipment Runoffs.
  • Assist with the handling PTR/ETR (Production Trial Run/Engineering Trial Run) parts and the collecting of transmission serial numbers in which the parts go into.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Miniumum two years‘ experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software.
