Job Description

Position Summary:

Serves as a dedicated support figure for individuals in recovery. In this on-site position at one of the Thrivur Health locations, we collaborate with community partners to deliver peer services.

Assist peers in navigating social service systems, modeling successful recovery, accompanies peers to appointments, when necessary, facilitates recovery groups, and actively participates in recovery planning.

* Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required at time of hire.

Education/Certificates:

High School Diploma required

Peer Specialist Certificate preferred

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in recovery and actively participating in a recovery program or way of life.
  • Demonstrated ability to network within the recovery community.
  • Ability to work effectively with people, accessing community resources.
  • Lived experience in recovery, willingness to undergo toxicology screening when requested, and a minimum of 2 years of continuous recovery.
  • Availability to work weekend and evening hours with advance notice.
  • Cross-cultural skills and experience working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Clear or acceptable background check from Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI).
  • Competency in computer skills, proficiency in MS Office Suite

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake through an initial interview with peers, completing all necessary paperwork, and providing an orientation to Thrivur Health services and support.
  • Conduct recovery coaching sessions and facilitate recovery support groups for peers.
  • Identify and lead group sessions on important topics, including recovery, criminal justice, legal aid, health care, mental health care services, employment, social services, housing, and other life skills subjects. Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of participant services as required.
  • Participate in supervision meetings conducted by Thrivur Health management.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, forums, and events for Thrivur Health when appropriate.
