Job Description

The Crisis Response Team Director oversees DC SAFE’s 24/7 Crisis Response Line and emergency dispatch. They also assist in maintaining and expanding DC SAFES’s systems advocacy efforts; including managing relationships and partnerships with common referral partners such as MPD, area hospitals, the DC Victims Hotline, and other relevant agencies. The Director will oversee the creation and implementation of programmatic policy and procedure, as well as supervise and support the Crisis Response Team Manager and On Call Supervisors.

Programmatic Support and Function

  • Ensure quality of CRT services and records through internal and external quality control measures. Report necessary information to the Director of Operations.
  • Create and set policies and procedures for Crisis Response programming
  • Attend Monthly partner meetings as necessary
  • Review monthly statistics
  • Attend monthly meetings to share trends and coordinate client services across DC SAFE programming.
  • Partner with other Team Directors to ensure there is a cross communication and collaboration between programs.
  • The independent authority to make decisions about service delivery based on policies provided with secondary support available as needed.

Program Management:

  • Mandatory attendance, coordination and facilitation of staff meetings and advocate meetings.
  • Set expectations for the supervision and training of staff, interns, and volunteers as needed.
  • Lead or support all CRT grant projects as assigned.
  • Attend meetings to assist in identifying trends and ensure quality services through regular case reviews, collaborate in shaping program goals, policies, and procedures, for clients, grant funding, and integration of services for community partners.

Training

  • Coordinate with and set standards for the Training & Education Team in onboarding and ongoing staff development
  • Develop outreach and education functions regarding DC SAFE programming and domestic violence as needed including attending Police Roll Calls and Police Ride Along.
  • Assist the Director of Operations and Systems Advocacy Director in communicating the organization’s mission, vision, and role in the community to providers, community organizations, and formal partners. This includes both onboarding and training for new referral partners as well as regular communication and meetings with providers to provide feedback and hone the process of referrals and community dispatch.
  • Serve as the primary administrative Point of Contact for referral partners and work with the Systems Advocacy Director to manage partnerships who primarily connect with DC SAFE on our Crisis Response Line;
  • Prepare or approve testimony, provide testimony and background briefings to City Council and other City Officials; (as needed)
  • Track internal policies and protocols of partner agencies to assess the impact on operations of programs and interactions with clients.
  • Conduct meetings and site visits with potential new operational partners, and team with the Director of Operations to ensure linkage of other victim service providers to DC SAFE

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk,

and use hands to finger. Specific vision abilities this job requires include far and close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:

  • Requirements: 5-7 years of managerial and supervision experience
  • 3 or more years working in Domestic Violence, Gender-based Violence, or Victim Services.
  • Experience with oversight and supervision of staff and project management.
  • Experience with local domestic violence issues and DC social service organizations
  • Experience with local and federal laws that pertain to Domestic Violence, Gender Based Violence, or Victim's Services.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to closely follow protocol and procedures is a must.
  • Experience with the criminal and civil legal system preferred.
  • Communications: Produces strong written documents, edits documents effectively, and engages in effective verbal communication.
  • External Relations: Serves as an effective ambassador, builds connections, and maintains relationships with outside constituents.
