- Experience: At least three years in a kitchen / deli management role.

What You Will Be Responsible For
- Oversee the creation of delicious food and ensure the best in customer service is being provided to all customers.
- Maintain and adhere to standard World Foods recipes to ensure all cornerstone products are being created in a consistent manner.
- Stay current on new techniques and trends in food creation to continue to modify the menu to best suit customers.
- Ensure that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are always maintained throughout all kitchen areas.
- Estimate food consumption and appropriately purchase goods to meet that demand.
- Oversee staff and develop a dynamic, highly functioning team, which includes training, conducting effective performance evaluations, coaching, performance correction, helping to onboard new hires, requesting to hire additional staff, and working with relevant internal persons to terminate existing staff.
- Ensure that all health and safety certifications and requirements are current and properly posted.
- Keep staff current of all key activities through effective communication.
- Monitor and track deli budget; recommend and implement appropriate adjustments to maximize return on investment.
- Oversee the correct cost of all invoices and communicate variances.
- Monitor the inventory levels and shrink reduction; assist in rotating stock to guarantee freshness of product.
- Monitor and ensure all PPE (personal protective equipment) is used every time it is needed.
- In a timely, professional, and concise manner communicate department needs to General Manager and/or Corporate Deli Manager as appropriate.

- Use fine motor skills to grasp, move, and life items of up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, step up and down stairs, and climb
- Be able to recognize and respond to a variety of sounds.
- See at near and far distances.

Located in SW Portland, Barbur World Foods has been serving customers since 2004. We provide our customers with both fresh produce, curated beer & wine selection, local meat & seafood, traditional Lebanese cuisine, international groceries and local culinary favorites from the Pacific Northwest.
