Job Description

This position is responsible for directing and analyzing the financial activities across all Divisions of Fisher Barton. As the Director of Finance, you will provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and scalability in line with the company’s three core values:

This role establishes plans and strategies for the best use of Fisher Barton human, physical and financial resources, with the ability to foresee, analyze and correct potential problems before they arise.


Essential Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and standardizes the financial processes of all Divisions of the organization.

• Develops, Implements, and Enforces the Financial Policies of the organization.

• Shows good leadership and mentoring of Division Controllers and other assigned personnel.

• Analyzes information affecting financial and accounting operations and provides recommendations for guidance of management.

• Provides financial support to business projects and processes for improving operational effectiveness and profitability.

• Establishes major financial objectives and policies for organization.

• Oversees preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and strategic plans.

• Readies reports that outline company's financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present, and future operations.

• Prepares governmental reports as needed.

• Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions.

• Arranges for audits of company's accounts and collaborates with external auditors.

• Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.

• Prepares the monthly operations review packet.

• Presents financials in monthly operations review meetings.

• Works closely with operations managers during monthly inventories to address any variances, or issues that may come arise. Insures use of best practice inventory management practices.

• Responsible for annual analysis and updating of costing standards, as well as interim reviews as needed.

• Performs other ad hoc financials analysis as required by corporate finance.

• Provide leadership and support to direct reports

• Additional duties and tasks as assigned by CEO.

• Must have excellent communications skills to interact with all levels of the company, and the BoD.

• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Accounting or Business

• Minimum of 7-10 years business / financial process experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook & Power Point

• Expert skill in Excel


Preferred Qualifications:

• External Audit Experience

• C.P.A. preferred

• IT Integration experience


Direct Reports:

• Direct line supervision of the Division Controllers and Plant Accounting function

• Direct line supervision of AP/AR/Payroll

• Significant interaction with the IT organization

• The office environment is conside red normal. Temperature and noise levels in the plants require regular use of personal protective equipment.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear and use hands to type on keyboard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.


Work Location: 700 S. Water St. | Watertown | WI | 53094

Shift/Hours: Monday to Friday 1st Shift, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

FLSA Status: Exempt
