Job description

(Kentwood, MI) Utilize expertise with PLEX, IBM Cognos/Elkom, and US and German GAAP, including ยง275 HGB (profit and loss statement structure) and ยง266 HGB (balance sheet structure) and US GAAP, including specific depreciation methods like MACRS to lead all aspects of the global finance function, including all global financial reporting between the USA and Germany to ensure compliance with financial group reporting and consolidation requirements. Train employees on company key performance indicators and targets. Oversee implementation of global financial software COGNOS (ELKOM). Manage development and implementation of global harmonized and aligned group guidelines within controlling and accounting principles. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports. Collaborate with global business leadership to ensure EBIT, CAPEX and Cash Flow targets are met throughout the fiscal year and to oversee budget for new business and technologies. Manage monthly closing activities to ensure data consistency, transparency, and enforcement of timelines within global Swoboda Controlling organization. Prepare and implement standardized and management-oriented reports presented during monthly financial reviews and quarterly reviews. Monitor regulatory compliance related to research and development activities and risk management efforts for international bank transactions.

Minimum of a Masterโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related degree or foreign equivalent, and six months of global accounting or controlling experience with IBM Cognos/Elkom and PLEX as an Accountant, Group Controller, or related position in the automotive industry required.
