Job Description

Leoni Law has immediate openings for outstanding associates to assist with our administrative, labor, and public employee practice.  The associates in this part of the Firm’s practice will represent public and private employees in workplace investigations, handle disciplinary appeals before administrative boards and arbitrators, work with Unions in labor matters, and handle professional licensing defense, among other things.  Associates also have the opportunity for private employment matters, including severance negotiations, wrongful terminations, and harassment and discrimination cases.  Associates have an independent caseload with the ability for significant, firsthand courtroom and other litigation experience.

This role is generally remote and accommodates an independent and flexible schedule. Bay Area or greater Bay Area located required.  We offer our associates the ability to work from home, continuing education, origination fees, bonuses, bar and association dues, and other benefits.  Travel in Northern California is required. Availability on occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include:

  • Advise and represent clients in workplace investigations and resulting disciplinary proceedings
  • Counsel and representation of clients in professional licensing defense
  • Work closely with unions and public employees in various matters
  • Executive compensation and severance package advice and negotiations
  • Assist with plaintiff employment litigation
  • Persuasive writing of demand letters, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Execute client work with quality and efficiency, as directed by supervising attorney

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree & member of the California State Bar
  • Minimum 3 years experience in criminal law, administrative, and/or labor law
  • Public employee representation and civil litigation experience a bonus
  • Strong technical and strategic aptitude
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Current driver’s license and reliable vehicle
