Job Description

Position Objective: Under the supervision of Senior Director of Employment Services, perform tasks as assigned. Responsible for analyzing training needs, developing curriculum and delivering courses. The Education Coordinator is responsible for development of reporting for measurement of training needs and results. Will follow Rule 50, Department of Human Services Rule 115, Rule 116, Rule 119, Rule 120 and other relevant regulatory guidelines.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  2. Manage all responsibilities based on the agency mission, using individual choice and all appropriate policies, procedures, and regulations.
  3. To conduct oneself in a manner that reflects the highest standards of professional courtesy and ethical practices to people served, staff, guardians, families, and all outside contacts.

Assistance to Senior Director of Employment Services

  1. Perform other duties as assigned.
  1. Confer with Senior Director of Employment regarding program progression.
  2. Assist in tracking and reporting demographics, outcomes, and strategic goals for United Way, 377 Board, and all other grants.

Staff Supervision

  1. In conjunction with the HR department, interview, hire, supervise, assign, evaluate the performance of, and when necessary, discharge assigned personnel directly and in cooperation with appropriate department heads.
  2. Provide tours, orientation, and introductions to new staff assigned to area of responsibility.
  1. Provide training to staff assigned to area, including but not limited to; OJT (on the job training) and if needed CBTA (competency-based training assessment).
  1. Mentor new staff and existing staff to assure proper implementation of programs, personal assistance and adherence to relevant policies and procedures
  2. Implement coaching strategies (prompts, role model, support) when training/retraining staff assigned responsibility.
  3. Provide training to staff assigned to area, including but not limited to; OJT (on the job training) and if needed CBTA (competency-based training assessment).
  4. Provide support to and work with all team and agency members.

Program /Department Development, and Coordination

  1. Assure the development, coordination, and monitoring of the service delivery for individuals as appropriate, including attending personal planning meetings and developing goals in conjunction with such staffing and maintaining necessary documentation accordingly, in conjunction with all applicable regulations, standards, and policies and procedures.
  2. Provide increased educational opportunities to individuals that are developmentally, age appropriate, follow principles of normalization and provide value to improve employment skills.
  3. Work with Transition Coordinator and Senior Director of Employment Services to develop class rosters.
  4. Work with Senior Director of Employment Services and Director of Marketing to educate schools and the community about EP!C’s post-secondary program.
  5. Serve as liaison between EP!C and partnering college.
  6. Collect, evaluate, and communicate results of pre- and post- assessments for each class for grant purposes.
  7. Work with Director of Community Placement to make referrals for Community Employment.
  8. Serve as back up instructor for scheduled classes.
  9. Communicate with co-workers, management, people we support and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  10. Contribute to and maintain a healthy and productive work environment.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Fiscal Management

  1. Operate programs in a fiscally responsible manner, recommending and following established cost-effective guidelines for the purchase of supplies, equipment, and services and hiring and scheduling personnel to maintain programs within budgeted parameters while maintaining quality programs.
  2. Provide programs for community members/students at a fee for service cost.
  3. Provide education to staff on financial responsibilities.

Marginal Responsibilities

  1. Perform other duties as assigned.
  2. As a mandated reporter ensures all allegations, abuse, and neglect are reported as required.
  3. Participate in meetings, committees, conferences, seminars, and in-service training sessions as requested.
  1. Interact with all departments and EP!C staff, with individuals from monitoring agencies/committees, parents, family members, and other professionals in a professional manner.

Education/Experience Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in education, human services, or related field or equivalent.
  2. 2 years previous teaching experience.
  3. 2 years experience with persons with developmental disabilities
  4. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  5. Valid Driver’s License or State ID.

  5. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
