Job Description

Job Summary:

The Director of Home Ownership and Consumer Finances is responsible for management, development, and administration of homeownership programs including the Culinary and Bartenders Housing Partnership program. This position will guide potential homebuyers through the program under all applicable HUD rules and regulations. This position includes providing recruitment, education, pre and post purchasing counseling, and any addition requirements to accomplish the goals of the program.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the success and goals of the Culinary and Bartenders housing program.
  • Develop and implement credit counseling programs and referral systems.
  • Develop and implement first-time home buyers counseling (pre and post) and education programs.
  • Identify additional housing programs that may support participants.
  • Works closely with leadership, vendor resources and the community to continue development and strategic planning of the program.
  • Prepare and facilitate training modules for participants and real estate professionals.
  • Collaborates with your team, clients, community, and businesses, to increase program awareness and additional resources for participants.
  • Plan, develop, and establish program policies and procedures in accordance with NPI’s objectives.
  • Prepare and lead required meetings.
  • Provide required reports to the leadership team and client.
  • Participate in Nevada Partners sponsored events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of advising and counseling practices.
  • Knowledgeable of community resources
  • Knowledgeable of FHA, VA, Bond, DAPS, and conventional loan products.
  • Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local funding resources for housing.
  • Skilled in budget/resource management.
  • Skilled in people leadership and supervision.
  • Skilled in facilitating and training development.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Participate in Nevada Partners training and meetings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Business Administration or related field required.

Five years plus experience in Housing Counseling, Community Project Management, or other directly related field.

Five years management experience.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred

HUD Housing Counseling Certification preferred.

Work Environmental:

Office setting in which team members have a strong sense of camaraderie and a good work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

Walking, standing, and prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
