Job Description

MBS is hiring a Manager of Controls Engineer in West Chester, OH. This position is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage a team of controls engineers responsible for designing, programming, and troubleshooting control systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control systems into equipment designs.
Develop and implement standards and best practices for controls engineering processes.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the controls engineering team.
Oversee the design and programming of PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, and other control components.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to controls engineering.
Work closely with product management and sales teams to understand customer requirements.
Support the commissioning and installation of equipment at customer sites.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance control system performance.
Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in controls engineering.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
Experience in controls engineering, including leadership or management role.
Strong technical expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, motion control systems, and industrial automation.
Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagram.
Experience with control system design tools and software.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to controls engineering.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex control system projects.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits and project installations.
