Salary:

Felix Construction Company is seeking a Payroll Administrator to work in our Phoenix office. The Payroll Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring all employees company-wide are paid accurately and in a timely manner. This role involves working closely with managers and the people operations team. The ideal candidate should be a Certified Payroll Professional with some Human Resource Information (HRIS) experience.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Accurately processes weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Ensure that all data, such as hours worked, overtime, bonuses and deductions ore correctly entered into the payroll system.
  • Maintain detailed and organized payroll records for all employees, including but not limited to salary changes, tax withholdings and benefits deductions.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related tax reports and filings as required.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers and external parties in a timely and professional manner, resolving issues efficiently.
  • Oversee timekeeping system and ensure accurate tracking of employee hours and attendance.
  • Collaborate with IT and People Operations to maintain and update the payroll software to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist in the payroll onboarding processes for new hires and manage payroll tasks related to employee terminations.
  • Update Human Resources Information System (HRIS) with employment changes such as job changes, pay rate changes, promotions, terminations, etc.
  • Respond to employment verification requests and other state requests as needed.
  • Handle year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation.
  • May assist with mail distribution, answering phones and other clerical tasks as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Certified Payroll Professional highly desired.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
  • 5+ years of payroll experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to follow up and resolve problems from beginning to end.
  • Must be self-directed and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Vista Viewpoint experience a plus.
  • Previous HRIS experience a plus.
  • Strong integrity and work ethic are critical.
  • Ability to work on-site with regular, reliable attendance.
