The CP Foods North America group is currently seeking a Quality Compliance Technologist to join our Minneapolis team! This is a great opportunity to gain international business experience and play a key role in growing our company.

The Quality Compliance Technologist supports and drives compliance in the area of Food Safety for our plants, Customers, Suppliers, Account Managers, and Inventory Control. This individual works with all of these groups to assist in providing resolution to Food Safety and Quality Assurance issues thus ensuring all established food safety regulatory requirements and quality expectations are met.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Assist in the overall implementation of standardized food safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (Federal, State/Provincial, and Local).
  • Effectively establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Assists in performing (or otherwise manage contractors who will perform) external audits to highlight and address quality and regulatory issues; complete and submit audit reports to all designated parties.
  • Assists in providing corrective actions for the party audited to ensure compliance going forward.
  • Assist in establishing tools and reporting metrics for supplier performance indicators.
  • Assist in providing recommendations to decision makers for when to delist a supplier.
  • Work with other department leaders to ensure GFSI Audit and other Food Safety compliance.
  • Support establishment of a formal process to meet Customer specifications.
  • Assist in developing supply chain compliance protocol manual.
  • Assist in directing internal compliance activities bridging plant and corporate operations with third party groups.
  • Work with Food Safety/HACCP Coordinator and Quality Manager at the plants to mitigate food safety risk.
  • Assist in communicating to appropriate plant personnel including changes to new or revised policies.
  • Assist in ensuring document management systems are maintained to meet compliance expectations of all regulating agencies.
  • Assist in ensuring that item maintenance is accurate in the inventory management system and meets the required HACCP and FSMA preventative control requirements.
  • Stay current with all applicable food safety regulations and standards.
  • Assist in conducting overall Verification and Validation of standardized food safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (Federal, State/Provincial, and Local).
  • Complete other essential job functions as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS. or higher in a technical field (e.g. Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering).
  • At least 3 years of experience auditing external operations and improving third party compliance.
  • FSMA certified
  • Deep understanding of HACCP, pathogen management, GMPs, and sanitation.
  • Frequent travel (1-3 days per Month)
  • In auditing companies, suppliers, and other external groups, all findings are to be held confidentially between CP Foods North America group and the third party.
  • Comfortable working with regulating agencies.
  • Cooperative and helpful style in working with external groups to resolve issues.
