Medical Technologist

Location: Port Charlotte, FL

Schedule: Full Time, Days with rotating weekends

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join a hospital based laboratory team in Port Charlotte, Florida. In this role, you will perform a wide range of diagnostic laboratory testing that supports timely and accurate patient care. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast paced clinical environment where precision, quality, and collaboration are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing following established protocols
  • Analyze proficiency testing samples and complete within required timeframes
  • Perform STAT testing to meet turnaround time expectations
  • Review, correlate, and interpret patient test results, including delta checks
  • Complete and maintain all required patient result documentation
  • Review pending and result logs and resolve or communicate outstanding items
  • Perform quality control procedures and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Handle and report critical and problem specimens appropriately
  • Provide operational support to the department in the absence of a supervisor

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Medical Technology or related field required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist required
  • Active Florida Medical Technologist license required
  • Generalist license preferred, including experience in one or more of the following:
  • Blood Bank
  • Serology
  • Chemistry
  • Hematology
  • Microbiology

Compensation

  • Hourly pay range from $27.09 to $37.92 depending on experience
