Summary

Provides safe and efficient operation of equipment used for the movement of steel, lumber, and other material as needed. Position reports Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with overtime as necessary. This position reports to the General Manager in Kaufman Texas.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Ensuring safe working processes while abiding by following regulated state/local and Gallaher Industries safety guidelines and procedures.
• Responsible for cutting flat material into finished parts following customer and/or company programmer- supplied designs.
• Cincinnati Laser - CL7 Experience preferred
• Identifying cutting programs to determine the best fittings to use.
• Make appropriate cutting setups, such as adjusting the laser beam's focal point and stopping location.
• Spot-check quality of work by periodically using measuring equipment and visual inspection
• Detect and report defective, questionable, and damaged materials to your manager.
• Team player willing to cross trained in a variety of work duties.
• Wears appropriate personal protective equipment: steel toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, etc.
• Read, comprehend, and follow instructions; must be detail oriented
• Keep work areas clean other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualification Requirement

High School Diploma or GED

• 5 years minimum sheet metal laser operator experience, preferably Cincinnati CL7 or similar machine
• Must have reliable transportation daily
• Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check and maintain drug free employment
• Must be safety minded, report any safety risks, maintenance issues, or machine malfunctions to the manager right away through written or verbal communications.
• Required to effectively communicate written and verbally coordinate with Sales department to meet specification and or verify quality acceptance by customer.
• Knowledge of various hand tools, measuring and guiding devices
• Knowledge of gauges, dials, pedals, and other indicators on machinery, and have reasonable computerized machinery operational abilities.
• Well organized and able to prioritize work activities and tasks, as well as those of fellow team members to achieve maximum productivity.
• Physically fit with the ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds.
