Automotive Transmission Technician

Freeway Chevrolet is looking for a highly qualified Transmission Technician to join our team! Specializing in the diagnostics and repairs of transmission malfunctions, the Transmission Technician plays a vital role in our Service Department, and helps keep our customers’ vehicles safely on the road. This role requires collaboration with other technicians and Service Advisors, and reports to the Service Director.

Core Responsibilities:

• Test and diagnose the cause of transmission malfunctions on a variety of Chevrolet vehicles
• Perform transmission repairs to dealership standards and manufacturer specifications
• Communicate additional service or repairs needed to the Service Advisor, providing an estimate of time needed to complete repairs

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience diagnosing and repairing vehicle transmissions
• ASE and GM certifications are strongly preferred
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Thorough workmanship with excellent attention to detail
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

Hours and Work Environment

Our Service Department is open Monday – Friday from 7AM to 6PM and Saturday from 7AM to 4PM. We are looking for flexible candidates who are available to work any of the days and times listed above.
