About Bista:

Bista is a well-recognized, non-profit, ABA, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy provider. Bista has served Arizona for 15 years. In an effort to expand the services we offer our community, Bista has recently added Speech and Occupational Therapies. We are looking to continue our growth at our current locations and new locations.

Job Summary:

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst provides evidence-based ABA services and supervision for assigned clients. This may include, but is not limited to, behavior or skills assessments, implementation of ABA programming, parent training and consultation, school consultation services, staff trainings or consultations. Billing requirements must average 25 hours per week; approximately 15 hours per week will be non-billable, but essential case related activities.

Candidate Requirements:

· Master’s degree in a related field required

· BCBA or BACB-D Certification required

· Arizona State Licensure required

· Safety Care (QBS) Trained and Certified (Training provided by Bista).

· Obtain and maintain Fingerprint Clearance Card (Provided by Bista).

· Have and maintain valid Arizona driver’s license.

· Able and willing to drive personal vehicle to sessions and clinic locations (includes mileage reimbursement). Proof of liability insurance required.

· Successfully pass a background check

· Successfully pass human performance evaluation prior to hire

Essential Job Duties:

· Oversee, develop, and implement skill acquisition programs and functional behavior assessments, functional assessments, behavior intervention plans, and skills assessments.

· Oversee, provide training and feedback, and contribute to annual evaluations for Registered Behavior Technicians and Interns.

· Consult with and maintain a professional relationship with families, client, staff, and professionals.

· Recommend solutions to problems with program development and implementation.

· Provide direction in establishment of program goals, protocols, and procedures.

· Provide supervision, training, and consultation services in-clinic, in-home, in-community, and in-school settings as directed.

· May provide direct services for client if needed to maintain consistent ABA schedule, or when designated staff are out and no fill-in is available.

· Analyze client outcome data to make recommendations in program implementation.

· Can implement a variety of programs and demonstrates flexibility with the variety of individualized intervention cases.

· Track and report on relevant clinic KPIs

· Respond to and checks emails frequently (at least every 24 hours)

· Provide updates on goals, questions and concerns.

· Submit reports in a timely manner to parents, funding sources (insurance/state) or Bista Administration.

· Submit session notes daily.

· Maintain an accurate record keeping system in accordance with state and local laws; all documentation uploaded CentralReach.

· Receives and implements corrective feedback from coworkers and administrators.

· Knowledgeable of Applied Behavior Analysis and positive behavior support strategies, and able to model the application of empirically valid procedures in applied settings.

· Consult with other professionals to provide effective coordination of care for all clients.

· Perform related duties, special assignments and projects as required by the Director Bista

· On time for scheduled meetings/appointments; notifies in advance if going to be late; follows company cancellation policy.

· Provide at least monthly parent training/consultation for all parents/caregivers on caseload.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Assists in the supervision of direct service staff.

· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

· Training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

· Oversees the Registered Behavior Technician and equivalent positions.

· Provides supervision for BACB certification process.

Billing Requirements:

· BCBA will maintain 25 hours per week direct supervision (billable) caseload on a regular basis.

· The BCBA will implement parent training for all cases they manage with a minimum of 1 hour per family, per month

· The BCBA will support the new client onboarding process through assessments and/or starting cases for take over

· The BCBA may support new BCBAs as they become licensed to provide services by providing case oversight

· This position may entail direction and management of other clinical/BCBA staff working under them if request capacity exceeds 25 billable hours per week.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Demonstrates flexibility with managing assigned workload and ensuring the needs of cases are addressed.

· Demonstrates effective knowledge of ABA, DTT, PRT, ESDM, SBT, Verbal Behavior, Incidental Teaching, and Positive Behavioral Support during supervision, team meetings, staff meetings, trainings, reports, etc.

· Familiar with the BACB requirements for Behavior Analysts, regularly reviews the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts, 5th Edition Task List from the BACB.

· Ability to complete various skills assessments, functional assessments, functional behavior assessments, client observations, and parent trainings.

· Maintains certification and licensure as a behavior analyst (BACB and State).

· Participates in or provides staff trainings.

· Evaluates client progress through review of behavior data, FA/FBA, and BIPs.

· Is familiar with and proficient with using Central Reach for all client documentation and billing purposes.

· Assumes direct responsibility for the safety, well-being, and goal progress of clients.

· Displays appropriate time management skills and effectively communicates caseload needs to Bista Administration.

· Ability to manage stress of job responsibilities in adaptive and productive ways; demonstrates flexibility in responding to changes in cases, driving, meetings, etc.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret educational and behavioral documents and assessments. Ability to respond to common inquiries or concerns from parents/caregivers and other individuals authorized to obtain such information.

Reasoning Abilities:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear the spoken word at a normal volume and at 20 feet with back turned.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasional lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. At times employee may, with assistance, lift and/or move up to an individual student’s/client’s body weight.

Work Environment:

The work environment is representative of what an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Sessions are conducted in various locations including in-home, in-clinic, in-community, and in-school. Staff will need to be prepared and flexible as we look to provide ABA services in any location that will benefit the client and their progress.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Clients may exhibit inappropriate physical behavior that may include hitting, biting, kicking, scratching, etc.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The candidate must be able to work directly with students/clients who display intense aggressive and self-injurious behaviors. Further, the candidate must possess significant knowledge of best practices in instruction and applied behavioral analysis.

Candidates for employment must have an annual TB test (negative chest x-ray or skin test) performed or provide documentation of TB tests performed within three months of employment.

Candidates for employment will be sent to a designated facility to undergo a drug-use test as part of the pre-employment process. From time to time, Bista will require employees to undergo drug-use or an alcohol impairment test on a random basis.

All personnel hired by Bista shall be fingerprinted as a condition of employment, except for certified personnel who, as a condition of certification are required to have a valid fingerprint clearance card. All other personnel shall obtain a state level fingerprint background check.
