Content Marketing Specialist - Internal Communications

SUMMARY:

The Content Marketing Specialist provides content strategy expertise to key stakeholders and internal project teams in the execution of innovative and creative marketing and internal communication plans and campaigns that deliver results for key organizational goals and objectives. This position is responsible for taking highly complex information and turning it into engaging content for general audiences. This position communicates effectively with others, listens actively to accurately assess needs, gathers information from sources at all levels, and creates and delivers high-quality, engaging content.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, journalism, English, public relations, or related field, with a minimum of four years' copywriting experience. They should also have experience developing and implementing content for various digital and traditional communications platforms such as the intranet, web, e-newsletters, publications, blogs, podcasts, SEO, social media, video, and advertising. Healthcare experience or experience in a highly matrixed environment is preferred.

We are looking for a collaborative, personable, professional with strong communication and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships. Our ideal candidate is a life-longer learner who is self-directed, with demonstrated ability to work independently, using excellent judgment and analytical thinking. Superior time management skills required.

This new team member should have a demonstrated ability to successfully deal with competing priorities and a rapidly changing environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint 2016, SharePoint 0365, Website Content Management Systems/e-newsletter/digital communication platforms are preferred.

This position reports to the Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications, and works closely with all members of the Marketing and Corporate Communications team, along with departments across the health care system.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of Munson Healthcare.
  • Embraces and supports the Performance Improvement philosophy of Munson Healthcare and the Munson Healthcare Alignment Framework.
  • Promotes personal and patient safety.
  • Provides content expertise to support innovative internal and marketing communication plans that deliver results for key organizational goals.
  • Builds and maintains excellent relationships with members of the MHC Executive Team, System Senior Leadership Team, key stakeholders, subject matter experts, providers, patients, and additional leadership to identify new and creative ways to reach target audiences and share our story.
  • Writes, edits, and deploys content for internal and external communications channels including intranet, website, social media, posters, e-newsletters, blogs, presentations, traditional and digital ads, and publications.
  • Interviews and frames stories to incorporate Munson Healthcare's goals, strategies, and objectives.
  • Supports communication strategies aligned with corporate brand, goals, values, and culture.
  • Performs content audits of intranet, website, and other public-facing platforms, as requested.
  • Proactively identifies areas for improvement of marketing communications based on the evolving needs of Munson Healthcare, and the health care industry as a whole.
  • Maintains a depth and scope of Munson Healthcare system knowledge that ensures the flexibility to adapt to changing organizational priorities.
  • Uses superior time management and collaboration skills to ensure tasks meet deadlines.
  • Ensures adherence to system editorial and digital standards for accuracy, timeliness, content, style, tone, and readability.
  • Collaborate on the development of editorial line-ups and manages publication deadlines with all content contributors.
  • Partners with the Digital Marketing Specialist on digital communications platform strategy and content plan, ensuring content is aligned, up-to-date and timely.
  • Works cooperatively within the department and other areas to facilitate communications, problem solve and plan communication activities.
  • Provides expertise in development and evolution of the health system
  • Maintains awareness of and monitors compliance with corporate identity
  • Carries out special projects with minimal direction, as assigned.
